Rooted in mindfulness and meaning-making, it offers practical reflections, gentle exercises, and therapeutic tools for each stage of the ENCOMPASS framework. Designed for individuals and helping professionals alike, it encourages healing through empowerment, connection, and self-compassion.
 

The ENCOMPASS framework guides you through nine interconnected elements of healing: Empowerment, Nurture, Connection, Openness, Memories, Permission to Pause, Acceptance, Self-Compassion, and Self-Care. Together, they form a holistic path that encourages resilience, balance, and hope. Through gentle reflections, writing prompts, and mindfulness-based practices, it offers a compassionate framework to support emotional healing and growth. Each section helps you honor your grief while cultivating resilience, renewed hope and guides you toward living with greater understanding and peace.

Each section offers gentle prompts, education and space for exploration. You can begin anywhere - follow what resonates, skip what doesn’t, and move at your own pace. Each element is designed to stand alone, while together they create a holistic map for healing.

How to Use the Workbook:

The ENCOMPASS Your Grief Workbook can be used:

  • Individually, as a reflective journal and self-guided healing tool.

  • In therapy, as a structured guide for grief counselling or coaching.

  • In groups, as a framework for discussion, education, or peer support.

THE GRIEF INSTITUTE
